This practice is accessible to everyone, without any backgrounds in Chinese body arts or experience in meditation.
I recently introduced this practice to an acquaintance, who happened to be a long time Taiji practitioner, but who also has Parkinson’s Disease. The symptoms of his illness have prevented him to continue his practice of Taiji, which has made him very sad and depressed. The simple, yet profound, exercises of the Taiji ruler not only allow him to pursue his physical practice, but the inner cultivation that is embedded inside helps him to nourish a positive state of mind. He now practices diligently with his supportive wife, who also recognizes the relief it brings her.
