Confucius, Mencius, Buddha and Lao Zi each advocated the way of the center. Benevolence, compassion, Dao are tools for finding center and in this group we aim to discover the center. This open group is a contribution of the Hunyuan Academy and is moderated by Dr Yaron Seidman. Feel free to post ancient and modern opinions and quotes aiming at finding center. Please avoid posting items not related to finding center.
Post August 1st, 2018:
Hi fellows of 'Dao is in the Center' group.
I will aim to post daily quotes related to heart cultivation and finding center. The best way is to reflect on these quotes and then ask questions to dig in. Learning and inquiring are the first two important steps out of five needed to make progress. The remaining three steps are investigating (what could be true what could be false), differentiating (what is right what is wrong) and putting it into practice- also called diligent action.
Point is, lets do the first step first out of 3
1. learning and inquiring
2. investigating and differentiating
3. diligent action
Online today there is so much information and people are trained to ignore text posts without eye catchers, to attract attention we normally need pictures and videos, which I purposely avoid here (call me old school :)). Ironically, just as with center, if you blink you miss it! so if possible pay attention to the title 'Dao is in the center'.
see you in the center

2 emails from patients received this morning:
1. Great news- it worked!!! I'm 4 weeks pregnant!!! Super hopeful and happy. Thank you so much for your support. Any tips for supporting first trimester? Herbs?
2. Dear Dr. Seidman,
I meant to send this email to you ages ago but motherhood is a very busy life.
I want you to know our son was born in July 2015. Yes, he will be turning 3 this week.
I am sure your treatments helped my body prepare for becoming pregnant and having a mostly healthy pregnancy at the age of 47!
During the years when I learned Hunyuan Body Arts with Feng Zhiqiang, Feng often said that practitioners of martial arts hurt themselves while practicing. This point of view seemed at that time easy to understand and yet the full implications I did not grasp until a decade later. All truth said, the human body is supposed to undergo physical activities. But in my opinion, depending on personal objectives one’s chooses the best actions that fit the task at hand. For example, when practicing martial arts, if one wishes to become a great fighter, then one must train in a harsh way, strengthening the body, improving speed and coordination. If, on the other hand, the objective is to increase and improve health then one practices Body Arts in a soft manner. If, yet with a third option, the target becomes using physical movements to help the heart and rejuvenate the spirit then the physical exercises must submit to a universal principle - heaven and man must conform.
While practicing Hunyuan body arts one should choose the objective first. Without a clear objective the physical practice is often confused and partial. Some practice body arts harshly and believe that it leads to spirituality and health, some practice softly and believe that it leads to a great martial ability. In reality, such practice is neither a horse nor a donkey. Fighting versus health and spirituality walk different paths and being sincere about this helps reach a higher accomplishment in either path. There is no right or wrong, it is a matter of choice “which path do I want?”
In the Hunyuan Academy we use Hunyuan body arts to increase health, improve the heart and rejuvenate spirituality. This is the stated objective and the courses taught fulfil it. This does not mean that the content is simple, the physical demands are easy and the practice casual. To the contrary, demands and rules are stringent and dedication is required. However, every rule and every action targets the objective of health, heart and spirituality. The student practicing it may progress far in this path.
